:: LES BOUKAKES BIOGRAPHY ::
"Les Boukakes" came together as a band in the mid 90s.
2001 they recorded their first album called "Makach Mouch'kil". But it took 3 more years that Les Boukakes became present in the medias.
And even the TV-Channel ARTE found the music that interesting, that they filmed a documentation about the band.
2004 also the latest album "Bledi", which means "my country" got released. This unifies many different styles of music: there are raļ-elements mixed with rock, pop, gnawa-music and even reggae. That's also the impression you get at a concert. So you see Rasta-people moving to the sound as well as people that like more the rock-style and for sure lovers of raļ-music.
2005 and 2006 they are touring around the world to spread their music. In November 2006 they have been nominated for the BBC Radio 3 World Music Award.
In the early summer of 2007 a new member joined the band: Kais Melitti from Djerba. He brings a more oriental style into the band.
